Seaspace International opens the doors to new customs warehouse

Seaspace International is delighted to announce that after a lengthy and rigorous application process they have been authorised to operate a UK Customs Bonded Warehouse. The approval is for a Type A warehouse, which can hold general goods but not Excise goods (Alcohol, Tobacco and Perfumes). This new facility is adjacent to Seaspace’s existing cargo handling and order fulfilment warehouse right alongside London’s Gatwick airport.

In making the announcement Gordon Humphrey, Managing Director, said “This is a fantastic opportunity for Seaspace to offer existing and new customers an expansion on our already broad range of warehousing services. Clients can store their imported goods without the need to immediately pay any import Duty or taxes. These Customs charges only become due when merchandise is withdrawn from the warehouse for consumption. This considerably eases cash-flow pressures on clients who need to import and store goods in bulk, but then supply goods over a lengthy period of time”.
